a 1:32 am thinkpiece - threshold

personal // thinkpiece / Jul 9, 2026

its 1:32 am on july 9th and im sitting on an office chair, working on my computer. ironically, im typing this on my phone. with this, i have to say one thing: wow, trying to be successful is hard. in a market that’s undoubtedly unforgiving, there’s a lot more weight that falls on our shoulders to prove we belong. such a cliche sentiment, but its one i feel like people don’t understand well enough; being successful is hard. i re-iterate this because it’s encouraging in a solemn way. if you have chosen to make something of yourself, and you’re in a position where you now recognize the discomfort in your upbringing, you’re on the right track. i wont sit here and brag about all the things i’m juggling; frankly I think theres millions out there who have 2x the amount of bowling pins than I do. yet, i share this because i want both myself and others to recognize there should be a comfort in recognizing you are uncomfortable. don’t be complacent, keep moving, building, learning, because the moment you think you’ve hit your limit, you let yourself become the hare in the race against time and precedence. the world will continue to evolve and if you remain complacent, the earth will not think for a second to wait for you. so when I struggle, when I complain, and when I think my work is null, it never is. even if building this project, working overtime at hemut, or spending hours on cold outreach leads nowhere, that feeling of discomfort and disappointment means i’m feeling the growing pains in my knees. it means I did more than i thought i could the day before, and the day before that. we live yet limit ourselves to a threshold. why?
